I have no idea what to write about today. And I wanted to get a post up since the last one I wrote was almost 3 weeks ago. So, yay consumerism! Here we go.
Since I moved to south Tampa 5 months ago, I've wanted to stop into Gaslight Antiques on Henderson Blvd. My taste is very eclectic and my home and dance studio are full of random little finds that I've curated over the years, so I knew this place would be the end of me and my bank account. I finally made it in there last weekend and I found this adorable treasure along with about a bazillion other things I want. I paid 45 bones for this little gangsta piece of china, yo. Was tempted to also buy a first edition copy of Rosemary's Baby, but I practiced restraint (for once) and since I was so good at containing myself, I figured I'd reward myself by...buying something else. Kidding.
Moving on: One of my go-to looks is pairing tights with short shorts and a tank top. I got these from Hot Topic for $14.50 each, but they were buy one, get one half off. This is my version of bargain shopping. Frugal, right?
Gals ask where I get my belly button jewelry from cause it's always so sparkly. It's nowhere that special, just good ol' Hot Topic...and they're cheap, too - usually around $12 a pop. They usually run a buy one, get one half price sale so even extra el cheapo! More frugality, I'm telling' ya, I'm so thrifty, ya'll.
Some more accessory and home decor action: I drove across the pond to downtown St. Pete to hit up my one of my all-time favorite stores, Art Pool, but it was closed, so I walked across the street to Central Oddities (they don't have a website but the link will take you to their Facebook page which provides all of their info such as address, hours, etc.). I scooped up this pair of fabulouso sunglasses for a mere $7. They cover my eyes, brows and the majority of my cheeks so they're PERFECT for no makeup/no sleep/no bueno days.
I also got this from Central Oddites. I think I paid $75 for it. It's my second framed vintage cover of The Ladies Home Journal -this one is from September 1919. 1919 was one of the best years of my life.
And finally, from Victoria's Secret, the Pink Palace Of The Most Annoying Salespeople Of Life. I swear, it's like they're on you a hot second after you walk in the place. I needed some more smelling-goods, plus I wanted to get one for my friend, Chris. I wear body spray every damn day cause it smells like OMG/LOVE/OMG and I want people that are around me to think OMG/LOVE/OMG . Fresh & Clean is my most loved, most worn scent. Totally one of my Secrets To Successful Living. I even spray it in my armpits if I've been teaching for 4 or 5 hours. It keeps me going, and keeps my students from running to the hills. PS: I totally bought Wild At Heart and Hot Crush for the names. I don't even really care what they smell like. That shit works on me, I can admit it. Kinda like Crystal Pepsi from waaaaaay back in the day...Crystal? Pepsi? Together in one bottle? Gimme that.
